Karen Carney Receives MBE

Triple A Media is extremely proud of the incredible Karen Carney who has been awarded an MBE for her services to football.

Karen discovered that she had received the amazing accolade when she saw that she was listed in the New Year's Honours List.

The 29 year old can now count an MBE amongst her already long list of achievements, which include 122 international caps for England and the 2015 FA WSL 1 title with Chelsea, as well as being named Chelsea Ladies' Player of the Year for 2016.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Karen said: "I'm just overwhelmed and it's an amazing honour - truly blessed. I mean there are thousands of people in women's football who don't get on the map and to receive that for services to women's football is a massive honour.

But there are loads of other people that could have got it as well, but I'm just really, really thankful for everyone who has always supported me and helped me on my journey."

A HUGE well done to Karen from all of us at Triple A Media!
