About Ben Hanlin
Ben Hanlin is one of the UK’s most successful magicians. The Brummie is co-writer and star of ITV2’s prime time hidden camera show Tricked where he has captured audiences with his - occasionally shocking - magic and boy next-door character. Tricked won ‘Best Entertainment Programme’ at the renowned Broadcast Digital Awards 2014 and the show won the ratings war for two seasons running.
Known for his unique pranks, Ben’s mischievous magic has persuaded famous personalities to believe he had invented a time machine, has convinced an actress to believe that she had seen a ghost and prompted a UK boy-band to watch as one of their members fell off a cliff-top from a moving trailer.
Ben wowed audiences with his eagerly awaited jaw-dropping debut show Trickhead at Edinburgh Fringe Festival during August 2016 and it was one of the biggest selling shows of the year.
Ben has bags of television already under his belt. His magic has featured on Celebrity Juice, The
Apprentice, Xtra Factor, West End’s The Illusionists and he recently performed a trick to over
2,000 stunned people at Live at the Palladium to a standing ovation. Most recently, Ben's magic has seen him perform various magical pranks on ITV's The Nightly Show. Most recently, you can catch him on BBC One on Wedding Day Winners.
Ben rose as a YouTube sensation, making the Magic Boy Finds series through his own channel. Using social media to hunt down celebrities he performed his fresh style of magic to David Hasselhoff, Michael Mclntyre, Frank Skinner and many more. It was not long before these adventures caught the attention of TV executives.
After landing a presenting job on CBBC, in 2012 Ben was one of 4 magicians to star in Breaking Magic for the Discovery Channel, a groundbreaking show that looked at the science behind magic and illusions, fusing showmanship and the mystery of street magic with the raw power of science. Breaking Magic wowed audiences in 211 territories worldwide.
The presenter and writer is also becoming known for his sense of style, with his Mod look adding to his charm.
Ben has performed at events all over the world, from close up intimate shows to large-scale stage tricks and illusions. His warm, cheeky style makes him an instant hit. Keep an eye out for him at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018 where he is currently performing his show '50' which sees him performing fifty tricks in fifty minutes at The Pleasance King Dome every evening at 7pm.
