About Connie McLaughlin

Connie is a trusted football presenter and journalist currently broadcasting across the BBC and ITV. This Summer, she’ll lead the way as ITV’s lead reporter with Scotland at the Euros 2024, pitch-side at the opening game of the tournament, against the hosts, ready to get to the heart of the emotion and ask the hard questions.

Connie knows the international beat inside out and has been the main pitch-side reporter for Viaplay and Premier Sports right across their UEFA Qualifying campaign. On social media, Connie went viral when challenging Spain’s captain Rodri, for branding Scotland’s style of play ‘rubbish’ after their defeat to the Scots at Hampden. The interview scored more than 8 million views, with fans even making T-shirts about the exchange.

Connie has racked up the air miles covering the Champion’s League, Europa and Conference League right across Europe, from The Bernabeu to the Artic Circle working pitch-side for TNT Sports. She was also picked to anchor BT Sport’s studio based coverage of the Hearts in the Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Aside from football, Connie presents Premier Sports EPCR Challenge Cup Rugby coverage and is the lead female on BBC Scotland’s boxing coverage.

Currently, you can find Connie presenting BBC Radio 5 Live, Final Score, Football Focus or hosting the Football Daily Podcast. If you can’t tell already, she is a very proud Scot, and loves Scotland almost as much as she loves dogs…
