About Danny Higginbotham

Danny is a former professional footballer turned commentator and pundit.

He had a hugely successful football career spanning 25 years starting at Manchester United making his debut in 1997. Danny had experiences at all levels of English football and European competitions with the likes of Derby, Southampton, Stoke and Sunderland to name a few. He has also been abroad with Royal Antwerp. In 2013 Danny made his full international debut for Gibraltar in a friendly against Slovakia.

After calling time on his playing career, he moved to his second passion, which is passing comment on the game he loves.

Danny’s television career sees him regularly appear on Sky Sports, Input Media, BBC’s Football Focus, ITV, MUTV, The Premier League Channel and The Sun+ Goals providing expert analysis on the biggest games. Danny also hosted weekly talkSPORT show The Players Lounge. The list goes on with commentary for BBC 5 Live, talkSPORT and Sky Sports News Radio as well as various local radio outputs.

He also writes three weekly columns for The Sun, and has regularly written for for The Independent, 24/7 Football magazine, The Sentinel and The Manchester Evening News.
