About Darryl Morris

“One day, Darryl will realise that talking and acting up will never earn him a living!” – Mrs Lewis, Year 3

Oh really, Mrs Lewis? Darryl Morris soon became one of the country’s most formidable commercial radio broadcasters, hosting one of the biggest commercial radio shows outside London.

Broadcast 7-10pm, Sunday-Thursday across the Bauer City Network, Darryl’s show was a must-stop destination for the biggest stars in the world, including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Pink, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, Ricky Gervais, Brian Cranston, Sienna Miller, Robbie Williams, Sam Smith, Nick Jonas, Craig David, Jason Derulo,

Prior to that, Darryl was one of the UK’s youngest breakfast show hosts on both Rock FM and The Hits Radio.

His radio career started young. At the age of 15, he hosted a special series of programmes on the BBC World Service and quickly climbed the ladder at BBC Radio Manchester before fronting his own weekend shows on Galaxy FM and XFM.

In 2012, he was signed to host The Late Show, 10pm-1am, on Key 103 and 97.4 Rock FM before moving to The Hits Radio’s national breakfast show in 2013.

Darryl is known for his versatility as a broadcaster - from reviewing the day’s papers on Sky News to battling it out with loudmouth Katie Hopkins in a Facebook Live debate, Darryl is regularly called on for his take on the big stories. A proud northerner with plenty to say, his social commentary can be heard across Sky News, the BBC and talkRADIO.

As well as that, Darryl can be heard tackling the week’s big entertainment and arts stories as a panellist on BBC 5Live’s weekly ‘Back Row’ segment.

Darryl also writes for publications including The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Grazia Magazine and The Lancashire Evening Post in his native north of England.
