About Mandy Henry
Born in Edinburgh, she caught the football bug at an early age when her dad took her to her first match at the age of three! Mandy began her broadcasting career working for Radio Forth FM, before making the move into television with City TV. She started in news and entertainment, but quickly moved into sport, working mainly with Heart of Midlothian FC but also in rugby, golf and tennis.
From there, she was headhunted by MUTV and has had many high points in her time at the channel. Interviewing Sir Alex Ferguson on a weekly basis was always an enjoyable challenge, but she also travelled to Bordeaux to interview Eric Cantona and toured Asia with the first team. She can be found pitchside on match days alongside former players and managers presenting the build-up to the games.
Mandy joined Premier League Productions at IMG as a North West reporter, interviewing some of the biggest names in football, and reporting on the lead-ups to a wide range of games.
Mandy has worked on BBC Radio 5Live working alongside Alan Green and DJ Spoony on 606. She also reported from various championship and premier league grounds for ITV. Mandy has also presented sports news on the BBC since 2012, for the BBC News Channel, BBC World and BBC Breakfast on BBC1. She has also worked on Final Score, bringing score updates from grounds around the country.
Sport aside, Mandy's other passion is travel, and she writes a travel blog called Travel Lightbulb. Also passionate about raising money for charity – Mandy has trekked through the Sahara desert, and endured a tough 9 day trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu.
